Home-Based Business Idea - Paper Recycling - An Easy Extra Income to Your Pocket

Okay. I know this kind of job won't make you rich but collecting old newspapers and
selling it to recycling plant in your area is one of the easiest ways of adding extra income
to your pocket.

Stop "hushing" me. This kind of job isn't cool but if you are looking for home-based
business to start with and on shoes string budget - This is perfect for you. If you are
serious you could make around $ 300 or more every weekend. Hint....Hint..... ( You
could do it on weekend basis - one day per week for $ 300 ? )

I agree with you. Selling your own stacks of used newspapers would not make you much
money. But wait a minute! Think about the stacks of old newspapers belong to your
friends, neighbors and people in your neighborhoods. Let's say for each house on your
street, you manage to collect and haul away 10-pound stack of newspapers on every
Saturday. How much money are you going to make? Did you get the picture here? Did
you see the dollar signs here now? I know we get excited now.

Now prepare yourself and treat your recycling business like it's a million business. You
would need a space as your storage. Clearing a space in your garage or an empty space of
8 x 12 place will be enough. Ideally, a dry-empty garden shed will be more than
sufficient.

Like other business, you shall advertise your service. Inform your friends, Mom, or
everyone you know that you are starting the recycling paper and you will collect and haul
their old newspapers every Saturday. You also shall advertise your service in your community newspapers, weekly shopping
news, something like "James's Recycling Service. We collect and haul away for you.
Junk. Old newspapers. Cardboard. Every Saturday. Call him: 512-667"

Another device for your business is open pick-up truck, if you don't have -- rent an open
trailer and hitch it to your car. And here you are ready to run your business. As to the
staff ...yes, I almost forget. You also need few people to help you around and since you
are just starting your business and on tight budget it is ridicule to hire helpers. You shall
be the boss also the employee.

Once you business grow, you may consider it. But for the time being, take your wife and
children for a family weekend ride your neighborhood and start making your rounds.
Visit the people you've talked to on your block first then expand to next block and the
next, driving up and down the streets, visiting, stopping at all the homes, in an ever
expanding ripple from your own street.

When your trailer is full of old newspapers, you can either take them directly to your
recycling plant and sell the load, or take them to your storage area, unload them, and get
everything organized. It's very important, though, that you get right back to the job of
knocking on doors and collecting more newspapers and cardboard.

One load won't make you rich or even really pay for your time. Get right back on the job
and collect as many loads as the daylight hours will allow.

Make the same rounds; follow the same collection routes, at least once every two weeks.
Once you've got the routine working well, you'll be ready to hire a couple of high school
or college students to help, perhaps with another car and trailer.

The best way to pay your help is with a percentage of the tonnage you sell. And then too,
once you have it all together, you'll want to go with a truck or trailer that allows you to
haul a couple of tons of paper per load. If you are serious about this business, you have the opportunity to expand your business to a wider scope. You could open a local recycling depot in your neighborhood and
people come to you dropping by with arm loads of newspapers for you from time to time
as well.

Even though you have a collection depot, you'll still want to continue your weekend
collection rounds. But with a collection depot, you don't have to do it yourself. You can
hire other people to do the driving, knock on doors, make the collections and transfer
their loads into the depot facility. If it's a big truck or trailer, you'll be selling ten to
fifteen tons of paper whenever you make your trips to the recycling plant.

Now you get the whole picture how much money you are going to make from this kind of
business. I believe you don't need to feel embarrassed and don't "hush" me again.
